ABSTUDY Living Allowance 2024 Amount
The budget allocates $38.1 million over four years to enhance support for Indigenous secondary school students receiving funding through the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Assistance Scheme (ABSTUDY).
ABSTUDY supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander apprentices and students studying overseas. Eligibility for Austudy depends on the outcome of income and assets tests, as well as any prior long-term income support payments.
The fortnightly rates are as follows:

Centrelink provides additional financial assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic called the Coronavirus Supplement, initially set at $550 per fortnight until September 24, 2020. From this date until December 31, 2020, it will be reduced to $250 per fortnight. ABSTUDY Living Allowance recipients are automatically eligible for the Coronavirus Supplement.
